Traffic Management Plan

In 1986, 60% of children either walked or cycled to their school. In 2007, only 32% of children were walking or cycling to their school. This scenario has become all too familiar for the Town and its residents as more and more vehicles clog up our local streets adjacent to schools.

‘Connecting Claremont’ is the Town’s plan for managing transport and traffic in the Town of Claremont over the next 5 years. Its aim is to enable all residents, visitors and workers to go wherever they want with ease while addressing the environmental and social issues caused by the existing car based transport system.

Council adopted this plan on 16 June 2009.
