Local Planning Strategy

The Local Planning Strategy will assist its residents to find what they need in a local community. This will include maintaining our vegetation and heritage, providing for housing choice and affordability, improving transport options and ensuring economic and social sustainability.

The Local Planning Strategy is a long term vision that will enable the Town to respond to changing circumstances resulting from emerging trends such as an ageing population and climate change. Where existing town planning regulations and policies can help, we will move forward with them. Where they are outdated, they will come to an end.
